Laura Spartaru-Negura is a Romanian attorney-at-law (Bucharest Bar) and assistant lecturer at Nicolae Titulescu University in Bucharest. Specialised in EU law, international law (with emphasis on human rights) and international arbitration, she has worked in several international law firms where she acted as counsel for numerous international clients. She also advises clients on matters relating to Romanian law.
Laura studied law in Romania at Nicolae Titulescu University (Bachelor 2002-2006, Master in Business Law 2006-2007, Ph.D. 2010-2014) and at the University of Bucharest (Master in Public International Law 2010-2011). Besides her Ph.D., she holds an MBA from CNAM Paris in association with ASE Bucharest from 2013 and an LL.M. from the University of Fribourg, Bern and Neuchatel in Switzerland from 2014. While in Switzerland, Laura was selected to be an intern at the prestigious law firm LALIVE, Geneva, in the International Arbitration department.
Laura regularly publishes articles in national and international legal journals. Additionally, Laura is a speaker for the CIFE summer programme organized by CIFE (Centre international de formation européenne), where she lectures on international human rights law with special focus on Romania, Bulgaria, Azerbaijan, Italy, Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia. Since 2017, Laura is the coordinator of the Romanian section of the summer programme organized by CIFE in Romania and Bulgaria.
Additionally, since December 2017, Laura has been appointed Assistant Editor of the Romanian legal journal LESIJ – Lex ET Scientia International Journal.
Moreover, since October 2018, Laura has been appointed deputy secretary of the ANESC (Academic Network on European Social Charter and Social Rights) or RACSE in French (Réseau Académique sur la Charte Sociale Européenne et les Droits Sociaux).
Laura has full professional proficiency in Romanian, English and French.
