Ruta Grigaliunaite was born in Lithuania. She holds a BA degree in Cultural Management from Vilnius University in Lithuania. Moreover, she is enrolled in MA “Human Rights and Conflict Management” at Scuola Superiore Sant’ Anna in Pisa, Italy. Her final dissertation topic is “The role of alternative narratatives in conflict transformation”. She is supposed to graduate in fall 2015.

Ruta has been involved in international development work since 2011 when she went to Georgia as a volunteer and worked with community building programs in IDP settlements. She was responsible for project design, drafting, budgeting and reporting, as well as giving trainings in IDP settlements on women rights and GBV. From September 2014 to February 2015 Ruta was an intern at Center for Peace and Conflict Studies in Siem Reap, Cambodia. There Ruta supported the organization in various activities, such as research and development of Peace History methodology, implementation of MA Applied Conflict Transformation Course; Regional peace practitioners research conference “Peace Infrastructure”. Ruta has been freelancing and working for several organizations in Italy and Portugal. She has been responsible for new partnerships management, social projects design and coordination (ERASMUS+, JUSTICE, EaSI programs).

 

Ruta is fluent in English and of course Lithuanian, speaks Russian, Italian and Portuguese.
